Maja Hmelak, PhD is an Associate Professor of Pedagogy at the Faculty of Education at the University of Maribor, Slovenia. In pedagogy and science, she focuses on the theory of education, pedagogy, preschool pedagogy, communication and cooperation of parents, educators and teachers, as well as the quality of preschool and overall education. Her professional and scientific work is mainly focused on studying employees' professional development in education.
She is the author and co-author of monographs, scientific articles, parts of scientific and professional monographs, scientific articles, reviews. She participates in the editorial boards of international scientific and professional journals, scientific conferences and monographs. She is a member of the National Commission for Vocational Baccalaureate and a member of the National Subject Commission for Preschool Education at the National Examinations Center.
